Sometimes one can get stuck in a rut. Coaching leads to new perspectives, so the familiar is seen from a new angle and new insights arise. We can learn more flexible thinking by acknowledging that we have a choice about how to view things, even if we cannot change the them.  It is helpful to avoid distorted thinking, where positive elements are filtered out.  It is good to avoid thinking about things in terms of extremes: if something is not perfect it may still be “good enough”.
